I am Paulette Harris-German affectionately known as ‘Lady Paulette’, a multi talented actor, producer, presenter, broadcaster, voiceover artist, event organiser, host and consultant.
I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 30 years, in front and behind the scenes.
I have always had a love for the arts, designing and putting on shows for family and friends also; also charged, with writing and presenting the schools sports reviews from the tender age of seven, attending my first audition at the age of 10, and landing my first acting role at the age of 16.
From this early start I have gone on to carve a successful career in the arts, from performing in the award winning musical ‘Black Heroes in the Hall of Fame’, and going on to do further background work on ‘Bridget Jones Diary’ where I got the film bug, to performing on stage in productions such as ‘Colour of Justice’ and Amen Corner.
I have worked as a Broadcaster and Broadcast Assistant, co producing radio shows on community radio as well as for the BBC, where I worked in a joint capacity with the Arts Council England (ACE), as the ‘ROOTS’ Project Coordinator. My role was to raise awareness of the arts and culture of the African, Asian, Caribbean and Chinese communities, introducing them to ACE funding streams whilst, securing them exposure on the various BBC platforms.
I am a sought after event Host, entertaining audiences from all walks of life, nationally and internationally.
Making people laugh is my life’s work and so I ventured into the world of stand up comedy, a skill I use in my hosting capacity. Audiences and Bookers have describe me as being: Professional, Elegant, Tall, Charming, Sociable, Energetic, Diverse and above all Funny.
I gained my Honours Degree in Performing Arts from Middlesex University, where I majored in Drama.
Since then I have enjoyed working in a variety of media including Film, TV, Theatre, Music and Radio, enjoying stints in countries such as, America, Africa, India and Ireland.
My film credits include, 1st AD on Julius Amadume’s ‘A Goats Tail’, and Associate Producer on Lawrence Coke’s ‘Melvin: Chronicles of a Player, also Menelik Shabazz’s Award Winning Documentary ‘The Story of Lovers Rock and his Documentary ‘Looking For Love’.
As a mother of two adult sons and a foster daughter, I am passionate about the empowerment of my community and as such, give motivational talks and run personal development workshops. As recognition of my work in this arena, I was a shortlisted nominee for the UK Government’s Child Poverty Awards, in the ‘Inspirational Parent’ category in 2009.
